SmartPath™ Precision Landing System Launch

The Honeywell SmartPath Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) was officially unveiled to airlines, air navigation service providers, and ATM/ATC-focused industry leaders at ATC Global 2009.

The new SmartPath system was featured in the exhibition, along with a Honeywell sponsored symposium that addressed the pilot benefits of GBAS and included speakers from Hughes Aerospace and Air Berlin. View Pilot Presentation

Identified in the FAA’s NextGen and Eurocontrol’s SESAR programs as a critical enabler for improving air traffic capacity, SmartPath can replace older Instrument Landing System (ILS) technologies to reduce airport traffic disruptions and flight delays.
